RECOVER is the research unit I am working in, and it recently celebrated its tenth birthday. This provided an opportunity to illustrate its research activities by creating the RECOVER soundtrack. To this aim, each research group contributed one emblematic time series that was animated and sonified:
- The Hydro-meteorological Risks group (RHAX) studies flood and drought risks in rivers, and provided a long time series of streamflow in the Real Collobrier River.
- The Continental Hydrosystems group (FRESHCO) studies the processes underlying the dynamics of species in streams and lakes, and provided measurements of invertebrate abundance at four locations along the Rhône River.
- The Mediterranean Ecosystems and Risks group (EMR) studies Mediterranean forest ecosystems under stress in the context of global change, and provided a time series describing the monthly growth of Pinus halepensis stems.
- The Geomechanics, Civil Engineering, Decision making, Risk group (G²DR) studies physical mechanisms within geomaterials, the safety of hydraulic structures, and tools for integrated risk management and decision support. It provided a time series describing the evolution of interstitial pressure in a dam.
